Degrees
The department provides experiences that prepare students for teaching careers, graduate school or professional internships, and professional or recreational careers.
After admission to the university, your first few semesters are spent completing the liberal arts "core curriculum." After your core is underway, you can declare your major and begin to take more classes in your degree area.
You do not have to be a declared major to participate in our productions. We recommend that you visit the Department as soon as you can to discover ways to get involved.

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree is designed for the student who plans a career in theatre or dance or is preparing for graduate school. Students may pursue a BA in Dance Studies, Theatre Generalist Concentration, Design/Tech Concentration or a Performance Concentration
The Bachelor of Science (BS) degree is for the student who plans to teach. A strong minor in a second area (18 hours) will enable the student to teach less than half time in that second area. Students may pursue a BS in Theatre Education, Elementary Education - Second Area Concentration, or Licensure Only.
The minor is designed for the student that has an interest in theatre or dance. Students who minor may do so in combination with any major. Students may get a Theatre Minor or a Dance Minor.
